El Pozo Productions, in collaboration with Raquel Ortiz, acclaimed producer of Mi Puerto Rico, is proud to announce the production of the first major documentary to chronicle the untold history of the primarily-Puerto Rican 65th Infantry Regiment and its significant participation during the Korean Conflict. Using rare archival materials and intimate interviews of the veterans, commanding officers and historians, we will present their fascinating stories of courage, patriotism, tragedy and controversy. In the past few years, we have conducted extensive historical research and interviewed over 225 veterans and commanding officers of the 65th Infantry from all over the United States and Puerto Rico. We have been honored by their support and willingness to share their stories with us. We have filmed over 35 of these interviews, some of which will be used in the documentary. We have shot in digital and BETA format on location in various communities across the United States, including New York, Washington, DC, Florida, Arkansas and Puerto Rico. We have also obtained a great variety of rare archival footage of the men of the 65th training, marching and fighting from World War I up to the 1950s. Over 700 photographs have been compiled from various sources including the private collections of many of the 65th veterans and officers. We have obtained numerous military and official documents, letters and newspaper clippings to research and develop the program. Conferences with scholars, historians and experts will also assist in the accuracy and content of this program.
